Mastering Digital Research Methods for Economic Historians: Unlocking Efficiency and Collaboration
Kerstins Rum Session 6: The application of cutting edge technology to economic history research organized by Jonathan Jayes, Jonas Kreutzer, Youssouf Merouani
Abstract
Instead of presenting a paper, we will together clean up a digital research project. This way we will look at some overlooked but essential (or at least headache reducing) methods for research done using computers. We will explore best practices for organizing our projects and effectively managing our research materials. This means we will focus on such simple and extremely exciting things as techniques to structure our files in a logical and intuitive manner and implement consistent and meaningful naming conventions. The practical approach will help you improve your own research projects and make collaboration easier than ever (including collaboration with your future self!).
